The Consultation

Chiropractic consultationThe consultation normally takes 30 to 40 minutes, and includes taking a detailed medical history. This involves asking questions about pain, symptoms, effects on your life, and your general health. This enables the chiropractor to perform a more targeted, and better physical examination. The purpose of this is to find the cause of the low back pain. Obviously if you are suffering from neck pain, joint pains in the knees, elbows, hips, ankles, or numbness,  pins and needles or pain into your legs like sciatica, the examination will be tailored to identify the cause of the problem, not only discovering where it is originating from, but to understand why it has occurred. Only by understanding this can the Chiropractor administer the appropriate treatment.

The physical exam will normally consist of a range of motion tests –  reflex testing, orthopaedic testing, posture analysis, and specific chiropractic tests to discover the cause of the problem. Obviously every examination is unique and is tailored to discover the individual cause of each person’s low back pain. Normally this examination can be performed whilst the customer is fully clothed.
